Team Netherlands
by Anton Zuiker on June 15, 2004
Theo Zuiker recently sent me a disc of pictures of the Netherlands Zuikers. See below; click on the image names to see the other pictures appear. Theo also directed me to the Grimmon-Zuiker website for more pictures of the Zuikers living in Germany.
At the moment, Theo and Alda are in Germany visiting their daughter Nicole, who is hosting a soccer-watching party: in a few hours, the match-up of Germany-Holland starts, part of the European Championship. Go orange!
Here are excerpts from Theo’s messages to me:
My house in Oisterwijk is relative luxe for Holland. I have a garden from 1200 square meters. One squar meter in hour little town, about 20.000 inhabitans cost about 700.-. So I can say I am a rich man…....., or my children later. We ware a month ago in Egypt to visit one of my adopt-daughters, who lives in Cairo. It was a nice travel, but very hot in Egypt and that is not so well. I told you that I start with English course, in the beguining of last year. You can see nou, that I make only a few progress. My age is 74 years old, and than it is not easy to lear by heart. I hope you can understand my letter.
Renovations
by Anton Zuiker on June 12, 2004
This website is like my new house: half-painted walls, waiting for flooring, and not quite ready to be moved in. But, I hope you’ll enjoy seeing the site renovations over the next few weeks.
Pictures of the house will be over at The Coconut Wireless.
Names and places

Here’s a recent message from Uncle John:
Got together with the Zuiker’s last night and it was just terrific. I finally got a lot of the family tree sorted out. I pulled out one of my old photos of three little kids out at the Harrision farm. The picture was probably at least 60 years old. I asked Simon Zuiker who the three kids in the photo were and he said that the boy was him. Turned out that it was a picutre of him and two of his sisters. Uncle Pete owned the farm where Dad and Uncle Louey used to always go and visit. Simon who also was called Sam was one of the kids who lived on the farm at that time. He said that he remembered fats will real and that he and louey were real characters. We looked at picutres of the great parents and of our grandparents and all of the relatives and talked about con zuiker and a lot of the Shoeneys and Harrison Zuikers. I had a map that actually showed the old farm. Was just a great time talking about Tomahawk and the family. He was such an easy going person. Felt like I had known him for years. The kind of guy you want to go to the local bar and have a beer with. There are a lot of Zuikers on that side that we need to add to the Zuiker chronicle list. They really enjoy the Zuiker chronilce’s. later.
Putting the moves on
by Anton Zuiker on June 8, 2004
Lots of relocation to announce today:
Anton and Erin (and Anna and Malia) have purchased their first home. It’s a small house in Durham in a quiet neigbhorhood of towering pine trees, and the yard is a serene place of visiting hummingbirds and curious bumblebees and diffident cardinals. Just an hour after signing the papers, we were in the house tearing up carpet and parquet flooring in preparation for new hardwood flooring and bedroom berber. By July 1 we’ll be happily moved. Watch Anton’s personal webspace for pictures and updates – and probably a lot of ‘how do I do this project’ inquiries.
Zuiker Chronicles Online, the Internet home of the extended Zuiker family, has also moved. We’re hosted on the estimable Textdrive servers. As part of this move, the weblog that I write has moved to http://anton.zuiker.com in order to make room for more Zuiker Family news and stories. Just as the physical home in Durham is under renovation, so, too is the Zuiker Chronicles Online.
Bear with us as we improve the site.
Zuiker Photos

The Zuiker Family is a photographic family, and a photogenic one at that:
Our patriarch left us with boxes of wonderful images. See some of his best shots from the black-&-white days on this beautiful web site created by Jeff Nolan, Francis’s grandson: Francis Zuiker Photography.
