Mark Nolan, my cousin, celebrated a birthday this week … Cheryl Zuiker, my mother, moved to Arkansas to be near my brother Chris and his four sons … Matt, my youngest brother, started a job at the Waikiki Hyatt … and Nick, another brother, recently announced his engagement to Staci Menayas.
Tsunami

A message from my father:
Last month at this very time I was in Phuket, Thailand, enjoying the waterfront restaurants and the internet cafe. Tonight we saw the same cafe on world news. A 30 to 50 foot tsunami wave of death rolled through the entire island because of an Indonesian earthquake. A 600 mile wall of the earth rose up and pushed the water from Thailand to India. The area where I walked was filled with death. People pulled out to the sea. I believe there were many tourists where we were visiting who were washed out to their deaths. I have nothing but memories of the sweet tranquility of the sea yet tonight millions think of it as a death trap. Go figure…I am saddened but it all.

Little Nicholas, weighing in a 6 lbs. 6 oz., 19 inches long and 3 weeks early, was born today to Chris and Elizabeth. Congratulations to them, and welcome Nicholas.
